The successful candidate will work closely with multiple teams to enhance system performance, debug complex issues, and contribute to the optimization of AI and HPC environments.
What you’ll do:
Kernel and System-Level Development:
- Develop and optimize Linux kernel components, ensuring high performance and stability.
- Profile and debug device drivers, focusing on memory access efficiency and system bottlenecks.
- Improve memory subsystem performance, addressing paging, caching, and NUMA-related optimizations.
Performance Optimization and Debugging:
- Conduct deep system profiling, leveraging tools like perf, eBPF, ftrace, and Valgrind.
- Optimize compiler performance and code generation for x86 and ARM architectures.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in networking, storage, and compute subsystems.
- Enhance machine learning workloads and GPU performance when applicable.
Networking and High-Performance Communication:
- Work on high-speed networking technologies including RDMA, RoCE, InfiniBand, and high-throughput Ethernet.
- Debug and optimize low-latency communication stacks for AI and HPC workloads.
- Open-Source Contributions and Collaboration:
- Contribute to open-source Linux kernel and system projects.
- Engage with the Linux community to upstream patches and improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance system integration and performance.
CI/CD and Automation:
- Define and maintain CI workflows for system testing and validation.
- Automate system profiling and benchmarking processes.
- Ensure robust CI pipelines for kernel and driver updates.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Educational Background:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Skills:
- Expertise in Linux kernel development, profiling, and debugging.
- Strong understanding of memory subsystems, caching, NUMA architectures, and low-level memory management.
- Experience profiling device drivers and memory access patterns.
- Strong background in system architecture for both x86 and ARM targets.
- Deep knowledge of compiler optimizations and low-level code efficiency.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, and Bash scripting.
