🤖 Position Overview:

FlexAI is seeking a Thermal Architect, a leadership position, to lead and work on path-breaking innovations based on cutting-edge liquid cooling technologies for system and rack-level solutions. This includes identifying the thermal challenges from silicon to rack level and influence the product architecture to mitigate the thermal issues.

The Architect will have the opportunity to design and develop innovative thermal solutions for FlexAI’s System Hardware, collaborating with the internal and external team of experts in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. If you are passionate about solving thermal engineering problems from Silicon to Systems and want to make an impact in a technology-focused company, this is the job for you!

What you'll do:

• Architect and design advanced liquid cooling solutions, encompassing cold plates and heat exchangers from concept to production.
• Plan and execute thermal validation and testing activities, including thermal chamber testing, thermal cycling and detailed thermal characterization to ensure product reliability and compliance with industry standards.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering) to enable the successful implementation of liquid cooling solutions into the overall product design.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in liquid cooling technologies, materials, coolants and industry trends to drive continuous improvement.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Master's or PhD degree in Thermal Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience with high-performance systems; 3+ years’ experience in liquid cooling solutions, is highly advantageous.
• Experience with HPC systems for thermal testing, characterization, Thermal Test Vehicle (TTV) development, and system architecture.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as ASHRAE and OCP, as well as regulatory compliance requirements for liquid cooling systems, preferred.
• Experience with emerging cooling technologies (e.g., Embedded Chip cooling, Two-phase cooling, & Immersion cooling) would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of Silicon powermap, Package architecture and mechanical thermal-attachment is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, and Heat Transfer principles and applications is required. Experience with the Finite Element Method (FEM) is an added advantage.
• Advanced proficiency in FEA/CFD simulation tools (Fluent, Icepack, FloTHERM) for thermal analysis and optimization.
• Demonstrated academic collaboration, with research publications, would be advantageous.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
