Position Overview
As the Lead SoC Architect, you will drive the architectural design and development of cutting-edge AI SoC solutions while inspiring and empowering a team of exceptional engineers. Your experience and foresight will be crucial in defining the SoC architecture to meet AI workload demands and ensure scalability, performance, and power efficiency. As a key leader within our SoC team, you will be pivotal in shaping the company’s AI strategy and technological roadmap.

What you'll do:
Architectural Leadership:
Lead the design of AI-specific SoC architectures, ensuring optimal integration of AI accelerators, CPUs, memory subsystems, and interconnects.
Set technical direction and strategy for AI SoC development, aligning with business goals and market demands.
Ensure architectural designs are scalable, high-performing, and energy-efficient to meet the needs of AI-driven applications.
Team Leadership:
Manage and mentor a team of SoC architects, guiding their technical development and fostering a collaborative working environment where innovation thrives.
Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams –including hardware, software, verification, and system integration–to drive projects toward collective success.
Lead design reviews, providing critical feedback to ensure the quality and robustness of the architecture.
AI Accelerator and System Integration:
Define and optimize AI acceleration blocks (e.g., NPUs, tensor cores, etc.) within the SoC architecture to maximize performance on AI/ML workloads.
Ensure seamless integration of hardware and software, working closely with AI and machine learning algorithm teams to optimize the end-to-end performance.
Performance and Power Optimization:
Analyze system-level performance and power consumption for AI workloads, identifying bottlenecks and proposing architectural improvements.
Lead power management strategies, including dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) and low-power design techniques.
Memory and Dataflow Architecture:
Architect efficient memory hierarchies (e.g., SRAM, DRAM, caches) and interconnects to support high-throughput AI computations.
Optimize data movement and flow within the SoC to minimize latency and maximize data reuse.
Technology and Roadmap Planning:
Drive the technical roadmap for AI SoCs, evaluate emerging technologies, anticipate industry trends, and analyze competitor solutions to position us at the forefront of the AI hardware landscape.
Influence long-term strategy decisions, such as process technology selection, IP licensing, and partnerships for future SoC developments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product management and other stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
Collaborate with verification and validation teams to ensure architectural correctness, functionality, and performance.
What you’ll need to be successful:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of experience in SoC architecture design, with a significant focus on AI/ML workloads.
Proven track record of leading architectural design and development for complex SoCs, with successful product launches.
Extensive experience with AI hardware accelerators, deep learning algorithms, and AI hardware-software co-design.
Deep understanding of AI hardware, including NPUs, tensor cores, matrix multipliers, and other AI accelerators.
Strong expertise in CPU/GPU design, memory hierarchies, and interconnects, as well as power optimization techniques.
Proficiency in performance modeling, analysis, and hardware description languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL).
Proven leadership experience in managing and mentoring engineering teams.
Strong decision-making abilities and a strategic mindset to influence company-wide AI SoC design.
Excellent communication skills for working across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI/ML software frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX).
Familiarity with chip design EDA tools and the chip fabrication process.
Experience in developing SoCs for edge AI, automotive, or other specialized AI markets.
